Terms of service

The terms on which we provide language services, unless a signed engagement letter says otherwise.

This is a working draft prepared for launch. Have it reviewed by UAE-qualified counsel before you rely on it in a client contract.

  1. 01Quotations

A quotation is based on the material and the scope described to us at the time. It remains open for thirty days. If the source material or the scope changes after acceptance, we will re-quote before continuing rather than invoice a surprise.

  2. 02What we deliver

Translation by a qualified linguist, independent revision by a second qualified linguist, and final review before release, unless you have expressly engaged us for a lesser scope and we have confirmed it in writing.

  3. 03Certified translation

Certain translations in the UAE must be produced by a translator registered with the Ministry of Justice. Where your document requires this we will say so before accepting the work. We do not represent a translation as certified unless it is.

  4. 04Deadlines

We agree deadlines before we start and we meet them. Where a deadline depends on you providing source material, reference documents or answers to queries, the deadline moves with any delay in providing them.

  5. 05Your review

Tell us within ten working days of delivery if you believe a deliverable is defective, identifying the passages concerned. We will correct any genuine error at our own cost. Preference for alternative wording that is not an error is a revision, and we will quote for it.

  6. 06Confidentiality

We treat all client material as confidential and bind every linguist accordingly. We will enter into your own non-disclosure agreement on request.

  7. 07Intellectual property

On payment in full, all rights in the translated text pass to you. Translation memory and terminology derived from your material are held for your benefit and are exportable to you on request.

  8. 08Fees and payment

Invoices are payable within thirty days unless we have agreed otherwise in writing. Where your organisation requires a purchase order number on the invoice, tell us at the point of acceptance.

  9. 09Liability

Our liability for any engagement is limited to the fees paid for that engagement, save where liability cannot be limited by law. We are not liable for loss arising from source material that was itself inaccurate or incomplete.

  10. 10Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
