Linguistic expert opinion

Independent review of a disputed translation, with a reasoned written opinion on accuracy, register and material divergence. Prepared to be read by a tribunal.

When the meaning of a translated clause is itself in dispute, what is needed is not another translation. It is a reasoned, independent analysis of where and how two versions diverge, whether the divergence is material, and what a competent translator would have done. That is a different product with a different standard of care, and it requires someone whose qualifications will survive cross-examination.

We produce these opinions in a form built to be read by lawyers and tribunals: the disputed text set out side by side, each divergence classified, the linguistic reasoning stated explicitly, and a clear statement of what we can and cannot conclude. We will also tell you when we think the other side's translation is defensible. An opinion that only ever agrees with the party paying for it is worth nothing.
